About Us

We’ve been a leading registered charity for children’s play for over 20 years, working in the Newark and Sherwood District and beyond.

We’re very happy to work throughout Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire and where feasible, we can support you wherever you’re based.

As a charity, we’re managed by a voluntary committee of experienced and dedicated individuals, who are firmly committed to providing great play opportunities for all children.

We’re funded by Local Authorities and other grant giving groups but with the funding cuts continuing to affect services like ours we’re increasingly looking at ways we can become more sustainable as an organisation.

Our aim is to influence and promote the case for good quality play for all children in the District and beyond. Children’s right to play is enshrined in The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child 1989, which sets out the basic human rights to which every child is entitled. The UK adopted the Convention in 1991. Article 31 of the Convention states that children should have the right to engage in play and recreational activities.

We do this by providing resources, information, advice and support to play providers including families.

We also run a year-round programme of indoor and outdoor play activities.
